Environ (CST) Needling
PCI micro needling (Percutaneous Collagen Induction)treatment improves your
skin by induces the increased production of natural collagen by the skin,
facilitating natural repair and growth. PCI Micro-needling using the Medical
Roll-CIT® represents a revolutionary approach by which normal collagen
production is stimulated to smooth the skin and treat fine wrinkles without
causing permanent epidermal damage. The Environ® Medical Roll-CIT® is based on
similar principles to those which underlie the Environ® Surgical Roll-CIT®, on
which its design is based. The difference is that, with the Environ® Medical
Roll-CIT, the skin is only penetrated to a maximum depth of 1mm, causing
virtually no bruising and significantly less swelling than its 3mm surgical
equivalent.
Because of this, the Environ® Medical Roll-CIT® can be used by trained and insured practioners and requires only topical anaesthesia. One further advantage of PCI Micro needling is that it can be
performed on lax skin and lax wrinkles on the face, upper lip lines, neck, décolleté, arms, abdomen, buttocks and legs. It is also useful for shallow acne scars and stretch marks.
Results and Advantages
The achievement of Percutaneous Collagen Induction through a course of six
treatments using of the Environ® Medical Roll-CIT® can typically result in the
following:
Results
- Fine lines and wrinkles are softened
- Skin is naturally thickened, tightened and elasticity is restored
- Acne scarring and minor scarring are reduced
- Pigmentation marks are lightened
- Stretch marks are improved
- The disappearance of dilated blood vessels is encouraged
Advantages
- A natural response is induced
- Healing period is minimal (redness for +/- half a day)
- Procedure is cost-effective
- Process is suited to all skin types (including laser-resurfaced skin)
- No permanent scarring is caused
- Safely repeatable for maximum results
- No additional sun-sensitivity is induced
- All areas of the face, neck and body can be treated
How it works
PCI Micro-needling using the Environ® Medical Roll-CIT® causes microscopic
breaks in the blood vessels immediately below the surface layer of the skin
(epidermis). This releases platelets that contribute to the forming of blood
clots. In turn, these platelets release a series of growth factors which promote the
production of collagen and elastin in the skin. This happens at a microscopic
level and the related chain of events should be aided wherever possible to
promote sufficient increases in elastin and collagen production in order to
tighten and smooth the skin as much as possible. The only proven way to further
boost collagen production is to prepare the skin with vitamin A prior to the
treatment and then maintain an enhanced state of collagen and elastin production
by continuing the skin care regime thereafter.
The version of vitamin A that is used could be the medical form, Retinoic
acid (Tretinoin) or the pre-cursors of retinoic acid, which are either retinol,
retinyl palmitate/acetate or retinyl aldehyde. Vitamin A is also delivered in
varying doses in all of Environ® products.
For best results, a series of six PCI Micro-needling sessions should be done
at intervals ranging between one week and one month, depending on the degree of
improvement that is required.
